I believe that we need more people to care for our endangered species in nz. Without your help these animals will be come extinct there have been 21 extinctions of birds since mid 19^th century European settlement including 4 mammals as well

Some pets like pests we need to get rid of especially wild. Animals like wild rats, wild rats kill native animals like a kiwis egg kiwis are an nz icon they are unique they have feelings and we need to protect them! It is not okay to take animals for grunted.

What happened to our animals? The extinct ones!!! The ones your grandchildren will never see!!?? you'll only see them in pitchers books or even on the internet buts that’s all. What happened to the dodo birds, the moas, the husk eagles, the pink eyed ducks or even the laughing owls?

There all gone, and soon the endangered animals will go as well as the pandas there’s not a lot of these types of animals left around the world for just 1 second have you ever thought about these animals? Or helped them when they desperately needed your help? Well most of these animals are ran over shot or purposely abused until death! These animals do not deserve all this and are mainly keeped in zoos so they do not get extinct or injured so what can you do to help save these animals life’s

Friction

Friction is a force when the two surfaces meet and rub together it can slow you down. Friction can be helpful when you’re on your bike and need to slow down.

Surfaces

Surfaces affect friction. When a marble rolls down something steep it slows down because it has less friction. If there is carpet at the bottom it won’t go as far because carpet is rough. The carpet has more friction. If vinyl is used the marble will go further because it is a smooth surface. The vinyl has less friction

Weight

A heavy marble has less friction because it travels faster. A light marble travels slower because it has more friction. For example: if some one put a marble down a high ramp it will go further because it has more friction then a light marble.

Gradient

The higher the gradient is, the less friction an object will have. The lower the gradient is the more friction you have. For example: if a marble goes down a slope with a high gradient, it will go further because it has less friction.

Summary

When you’re Brakes rub together is makes friction and it can help you.  so when your in ur car and need to slow down at a red light, you now know its a thing called friction.

Tokomaru school's Visit to the Fire Station.

                    Last Week, on April the 8th our school went to the tokomaru Fire Station to Learn about Firewise. it was my first time going in the smoke room, we all had to go in pairs of 6.

when the Fire Station Pepole opened the door i crawled in i couldn't see anything becuse the room was filled with smoke made from Peanut Oil. i crawled under the table but i Grazed my back going under.

after we got thruough the smoke room we all got a Lolli Pop and a Firewise book. and then we wen't outside and had a photo by the Fire Truck. after that we all got Certificates Shortly after we walked back to School!

Tokomaru School Touch Rugby

Today half of our school which is the year 6 and down have gone to play touch rugby against other schools good luck!!!

Christchurch Earth Qwake

has any been watching the news?....

well if you havn't theres been a huge earth qwake down in christchurch 75 are dead and they are thinking 300 more are dead or missing its a verry sad loss. as you no, on the school news letter.. to help out with cristchurch you can come down after school and donate stuff by the school car park that willl be deliverd to Cristchurch Thanks for reading =]
